One of the things I really enjoy in the world of strength training is people's willingness to share their ideas. Everywhere you look, someone's performing an exercise in a different way; or using an uncommon training technique.
If you'd like to share your own strength-training insights, a guest post on
Straight to the Bar might be just what you're looking for. Whether you're a personal trainer, professional athlete or just someone who loves this stuff; an article here will put you in touch with some incredible readers.
The process involved is nice and painless. To share an article, simply email us :
- 1,000 - 2,000 words, in a plain text file attached to the email : Just copy and paste the text from your favourite word processor into Notepad, Textedit, or anything else which handles plain text. Attach the plain text file to the email.
- 2 - 6 images, of at least 240px x 320px in size (in .jpg, .gif or .png format) : One of these is always used at the very beginning of the article, with the others being next to the relevant part of the article.
There are several sources of free images which you can use here, or you can take your own photos. My favourite is the Creative Commons section on Flickr : these are free, with attribution. If you provide the URL of the source page, I'll include a link to the photographer directly beneath the image itself.
- Embed code for any videos you wish to use : I typically use Youtube for this, but it can be any video site which allows embedding of the videos. If you provide the embed code, I'll include it in the article.
- Byline text (and a photo of yourself) for use below the article : 40-60 words, URLs for any sites you'd like us to link to, and a 45px x 60px image of yourself.
And that's it. The article will be online shortly afterward, and you'll be receiving some invaluable feedback from the fantastic Straight to the Bar community.
Perfect.
NB : If you've written guest articles before, I'm sure you already know the process well (including the bonuses); but just in case - all of the articles on Straight to the Bar are unique (you won't see them published on other sites, if you do, let me know). Works out much better for all of us that way.
